There is no doubt that typography is an
important element of an essay. As the author said,“the old adage that 'you can’t judge a book
by its cover' may have been accurate a hundred years ago, when books had
plainer covers. But it’s not accurate today.” Now we found that all kinds of
information bomb in our life, so a good typography can help author to abstract
more audience’s attention and help audience to acquire information quickly and
easily.
Comparing to our life, I found that there is a tight
connection between packaging and typography because it can make good increase
the goods’ value immediately. We use the visual aids to make work perfect. And
with the development of technology, the quality of goods are improving and
getting more and more delicate.
In my opinion, readability and legibility
are both important elements of typography. The two terms that may seem interchangeable, but they
refer to different, albeit connected, functions of type each with its own
strength in communication.
