Individual Twitter Summary

1. What surprised you about your narrative? How did you adapt?

In our narrative project, I faced many problems. Firstly, I was not familiar with the twitter so that it took me a lot of time to use this new technology. However, twitter is easy to operate and is a really amazing to share information just like Renren in China. And I learned how to use hashtag, direct message and so on. It lays solid foundation for our narrative project. Secondly, it’s hard for me to transform the story into the tweet. In the story, we could use a lot of description but in our tweet we only use easy sentences. By the way, I think the word limitation in the twitter is too strict. At the same time, I found that my language in daily life is to Chinglish so that I watched many American media and wrote down interesting language. I think it’s definitely vital for good writer to steal.

2. Identify the points you are most proud of.

I am really proud of our vlog and our love. As for vlog, I choose a staff to talk about the weakness of his boss and colleagues. His boss is a traditional Asian woman and is finicky to his staff and his colleague likes farting. He cannot stand it so that he shot this vlog to record his life in a funny way. I believe that many people have similar circumstance as him so that it entertains audience in a funny way. Our vlog is not like video journal because it has more fun.

3. What form of media was most useful?

As far as I am concerned, the most useful tool is inforgraphic. It uses many visual aids to show the data in a dynamic way. There is no doubt that infograic is a newborn baby of the development of information. And with the development of infographic, more and more data issue can solve it easily. The infographic tries to use a brand new way to collect and show data. I believe that more people are willing to use this new way to grab people's attention because creating a visual story that allows audiences to process and digest this knowledge in an informative and elegant way. It helps both authors and readers to create a creative and critical thinking.

4. What form of media did you enjoy the most?

I enjoy the video most because it is the best tool to entertain audience. During the process of shooting and editing the video, we had a lot of fun. As for me, video is much more dynamic than other media. We can add photos, music and quantities of information in the video. Also we can use action communication to entertain audience. For example, we have the dance performance in both vlog and final presentation.

5. Least useful?

As for the least useful tools, I think it is text. It is static and boring. Reading will take a lot of time. Why don’t we use a more dynamic way to show data? At the same time, I think the test limits human’s brainstorm in a way so that I think test is least useful.

6. Least enjoyable?

I don’t have unenjoyable part in twitter narrative project. I like to way to use updated tweet to conduct our story. Maybe the least enjoyable part is the word limitation in twitter because I could not convey my entire feelings in one tweet. But if I send many tweets at the same time, I think it might annoy my friends.

7. Identify the points you would change and what you would do differently.

Next time I want to change the way that we use mostly in twitter. We use the quarrels to arouse audience attention in this time but it does not work very well. After I reread the entire tweets, I found that it was a little bit boring because word was much more weak or static than other tools. I think we can add more buzzword and hot issues in out tweet. Therefore, I think we can use the interesting photos instead of words next time.

8. Optional: is there anything else you would like me to know?

I want to talk about something about our vlog. The vlogger is an employee of our pottery company and he complains about this work place and colleague. His boss is a traditional Asian woman and is finicky to her staff. As for this colleague, one of them is hot and sexy like Lindsay Lohan but likes farting. The other one is strict to him because he is new staff

Response to How You Might Use Vlogs for Your Twitter Narrative?

     A volg is an effective way for us to gather public attention and attract audience. I will interview several customs of our pottery shop and collect their opinions into this vlog. It's an effective way for us to gather more attention online and attract more audience. In that case, I think Vlog can be used as advertisement. If we do an amusing vlog online, a group of audience will have fun in this video.

American Dream In Mumbai Slums

What is American dream? It’s a set of ideas in which freedom includes the opportunity for prosperity and success and an upward social mobility achieved through hard work. _[1] In Slum Dog Millionaire, there are a lot of evidences to prove that the three musketeers from slums are achieving their American Dream through hardworking.

There is no doubt that Jamal is the typical hero in Hollywood film that proves an ordinary can fight for his goal and achieve his American Dream finally. He used to be a poor man who grew up in the slums in Mumbai, and became the winner on the Indian version of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" He won the staggering 20 million rupees and also reaped his love. He is a determined and tough guy who has lived through much, but he never gave in the reality or the cared the yawning chasm between the slums and the plutocratic classes. For example, at the beginning of the film, the officer asked, “What the hell can a slum dog possibly know?” Jamal vomited blood and answered, “The answer.” Even though police arrested him on suspicion of cheating and tormented him the whole night, desperate to prove his innocence, he still did not admit the frame and finished the extra competition at the end of the story.

On the contrary, even though an increasing minority stated that hard work and determination does not guarantee success, Jamal’s brother, Salim still used his tenacious even vicious means to achieve his American Dream- earn money. It is difficult to imagine how Jamal survives without his tough brother, because Salim is the person who provides the good living condition for him. He is sort of opportunist and adapts to all kinds of bad situation. Salim put up with many ideas and they make a living travelling on top of trains, selling goods, picking pockets, working as dish washers, and pretending to be tour guides at the Taj Mahal, where they steal people's shoes. [2] Sometimes he was lost in his desire. However, he died his own dream that to be a rich man.

The third musketeer is Latika, who is the truly lover of Jamal. She is strong woman and seeks for her own dream, love. Yet she gets rid of the Gangster and is optimistic about her future life.

Furthermore, the detail that choosing Benjamin Franklin, the person who are in American One Hundred Dollar Bill, is also an evidence of American dream. Franklin became the best in many kinds of occupation and a spokesperson of achieving American dream, because he inspires many people.

In conclusion, Slum Dog Millionaire is an impressive film and encourages me to achieve my own American Dream. The three musketeers will lead the audience to fight for goal through hardworking.

Response to the Question

     There is no doubt that using different kinds of media in our Twitter narrative will make more fun in our story. As for our own story, we can use the text online to read the story, a love story. At the same time, I think we can use the mixtures of two things, a short film to provide many evidences to find lovers online. In addition, we can use a large number of visual aids to attract more audience. As far as I am concerned, most of California people are not familiar with China Pottery so that the most effective way to show our product. At the same time, we can shoot a short video to show it.
